How Long Will My Sauce Last? Storage Tips You Didn’t Know You Need

Our sauces are shelf-stable—but storage matters.

How long will they last unopened? Up to 12 months in a cool, dark place. Light, heat, and humidity can degrade quality over time. Avoid keeping your sauce near a sunny window, above the stove, or in your car (trust us on that last one).

Once opened? They’ll last 4–6 months in the fridge—possibly longer depending on the ingredients. The fermentation helps preserve them naturally, but exposure to oxygen slowly changes flavor and consistency.

Pro tips:

  • Shake before use—natural separation is normal, especially in unfiltered fermented sauces.
  • Always use a clean spoon if you’re scooping, not pouring. Dirty utensils introduce bacteria.
  • Avoid ‘tapping,’ ‘dabbing,’ or otherwise touching the bottle to your foods – this can introduce small particles into the bottle, introducing bacteria & off-flavors.
  • Wipe the rim and lid after use to prevent crusty buildup or mold.
  • Avoid freezing—it messes with texture and can break emulsion.

Bonus: If the sauce fizzes, bulges, or smells funky in a bad way, play it safe and compost it. But thanks to fermentation and our process control, that’s rare.

Your sauce is alive, vibrant, and eager to be eaten. Store it with a little care and it’ll love you back every time.
