Make-It Monday: Strawburied Alive Spicy Chocolate Sundaes

Sweet, tart, smoky, and just enough burn to keep you coming back for one more bite.
Serves: 2 | Prep time: 10 min | No cook

Why This Works:

Strawburied Alive is built on a rich base of strawberry and balsamic with Fresno chilies for a slow, warming burn. Pair that with dark chocolate, ice cream, and a hint of salt, and you’ve got a dessert that’s balanced, bold, and ridiculously simple to pull off.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla or chocolate ice cream (or both)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or milk
  • 2 teaspoons Strawburied Alive hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • Optional: whipped cream, crushed pretzels, or shortbread crumbles

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, toss sliced strawberries with balsamic vinegar. Set aside to macerate.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt chocolate with cream until smooth. Stir in Strawberried Alive.
  3. Scoop ice cream into bowls. Spoon over the spicy chocolate sauce, balsamic strawberries, and a pinch of sea salt.
  4. Add optional toppings for crunch or creaminess. Serve immediately.

Tips for Success:

  • Want to tone it down? Mix Strawberried Alive into the chocolate a half teaspoon at a time and taste as you go.
  • This sauce also works beautifully over brownies, panna cotta, or cheesecake.
  • For a dairy-free version, use vegan chocolate and coconut milk.
